Your child’s brain is so busy. It is working 24 hours a day and consequently needs ‘brain food’ flowing to it constantly. It needs amino acids from proteins; vitamins and minerals from plant foods; specific fats from foods; and glucose in the form of blood sugar. Unlike chipmunks, the brain does not have the ability to store food for when it needs some energy later.

"So what mistakes did you make today guys?" I asked Jacob and Lucas while they were playing catch in the basement and watching the Detroit Tigers play to win the American League Championship. I've found that with my two 9-year old boys some of our best conversations happen while they are involved in something to do with sports.
