Japan, often called ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’, is one of the most iconic countries in eastern Asia. One of the most advanced and populous countries in the region, it is home to a civilization that dates back thousands of years, and a legacy that is just as interesting and attractive. Among the many attractions worth looking into while visiting the country are, ancient castles and pagodas, historic narrow streets that lead to glittering skyscrapers, pop culture icons such as Pokémon and cosplay events, and a landscape second to none.

South Korea is a country located amidst China and Japan. A country whose culture extends into the surrounding regions of North Korea and to some extent, even Russia and China, it is a civilization whose origins are about as old as that of Japan. Another highly advanced country, the country is a place that is well known as a tourist destination, attracting millions from around the world. There is much to do when you finally land in South Korea, which range from sparkling megacities, to ancient castles and ruins, and an abundance of scenic beauty all around.
Home of the infamous Genghis Khan and several ancient Mongol kingdoms, Mongolia are today an emerging tourist hub in the heart of Asia. Part of the former Soviet Union, Mongolia is today a unique mix of both modern lifestyles and traditional nomadic ways that have lasted for thousands of years. The above is especially interesting, given that one can find small nomadic settlements just a short drive away from a sleek glass and steel skyscraper, such as those in Ulaanbaatar. Other attractions include the vast steppe grasslands, a natural spectacle found almost nowhere else. Located off the coast of China, is Taiwan. A country largely made up of ethnic Chinese, the country traces much of its history to that of mainland China, making it essentially a cultural extension of China. Besides this, the island is also home to indigenous aborigines, most of whom are found in the southern parts of the country. From the glittering cities of Taipei, to small Chinese villages, and an abundance of aboriginal heritage, this is one interesting country in Southeast Asia.

Along the northern fringe of Arabia is the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Originally part of a larger set of tribal domains, the UAE came about after European colonization the region. The country is today one of the richest in the region, thanks to the discovery of oil, as well as its former natural resource of natural pearls. Some of the many attractions of UAE include the stunning cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as an array of different opportunities to explore the cultures of the desert, along with the many sports activities that it offers.
Israel is a country that has existed as a cultural entity since Biblical times. The present country of Israel came about shortly after the Second World War, with the large-scale emigration of Jews to the region, not just from Europe but also other regions such as Middle-East and North Africa. Today, it is home to one of the most advanced countries in the region. Israel is well-known for its technological advancements, scientific research and cultural heritage sites. One of the most important cities in the world is the capital city of Jerusalem, a melting point for Muslims, Christians, Jews, and a few other religions, and a city that has existed for thousands of years.

Bhutan, also called the ‘Kingdom of Bhutan’, is a small country in the Himalayas, bordered by China in the north and India in the south. It is one of the more unique countries in the region, given its heritage rooted in Buddhism, and being one of the last monarchies in the region. From stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, to ancient Buddhist temples and then some, there is something for everyone in this Himalayan destination.
One of the oldest civilizations in the world, India is a country in South Asia, and is a growing tourist destination with immense potential. Home to many civilizations for years, the country today offers an array of cultures and ways of life that has developed over this long period of time. It should be noted that the diversity in India is so much that you’d require several months to truly absorb the essence of India. Needless to say, it is a country worth visiting, and is also one that will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
If there is one tropical paradise worth checking out in Asia, it would be the Maldives. Near the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is a collection of hundred of coral atolls, stretching across a vast area of the Indian Ocean. With a few of them inhabited and the rest in a fairly pristine condition, the country has become a hotbed of tropical tourism for everything from honeymoons and vacations to snorkeling and diving.
